The Memorial Garden

The sun casts its shadow on the natural rock waterfall as a cool breeze bends the delicate leaves of a willow tree. Birds whistle to each other across the brick patio as they splash in the formal fountain. The butterflies and hummingbirds engage in acrobatics among the flowers and benches.

Fountain

Who would believe that this peaceful and tranquil haven is nestled right in the center of Tucson, Arizona?

This oasis in the desert, Cornerstone Fellowship Memorial Garden, has finally reached completion and is more than any of its original planners ever expected.

Flowers

Approximately five years ago several members of Cornerstone Fellowship were driven by the need posed in our community, the need to have a place to call our own; a place where we could remember loved ones who have died and a place where we could congregate without fear of rejection. What was once a weed infested piece of land has since been transformed into a beautiful, quaint garden.

Memorial Wall

The Memorial Garden has an L-shaped wall for plaques commemorating the lives of those who have already left this world. At both ends of the garden sit raised beds containing plants, flowers, and trees. One of these is used as a sprinkling garden, in lieu of burial. Plaques accompany the plants, trees, and benches that have been given in memory of a loved one.

Benches

The Memorial Garden may be used for Memorial Services, and is opened from dawn to dusk. It is an ideal place to sit and contemplate on life, or just unwind from a hectic schedule. Everyone is invited to come by and avail themselves of the garden.
